Lions Rising to the occation.

The Encuentro Project developed by Lion Carol, brought services to a Hispanic community in DownTown Albuquerque. Over 130 men, woman, and children attended the event. On  followup Eyeglases ,frames and lenses were given to the clients in need and surgergy has been scheduled for the 9 -11 remaining clients.

Location: Presbyterian Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho (Parking Lot),
2400 Unser Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM

WHO: The Juliette RP Foundation
WHAT: Sponsored event; a pet-friendly 5K Walk/Run, Kids Fun Run, car show, big silent auction, bake sale, and family fun! Including treats, a jump-jump, information  and  Fundraiser booths.

WHERE: Presbyterian Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho (Parking Lot), 2400 Unser Blvd SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
WHY: The Event was a 5K Walk/Run to bring rawareness to the community of the problems of Retinitis Pigmentosa. It was a fundraiser for the orginazation and a Car Show and Amusements and treats for the gathering there.

WHEN:The Event took place on August 15, 2015 at 8:00 AM

Lion Dr. Debroah Moy gave a $200 donation, sponsering three participants, two from the Albuquerque Northeast Lions Club and entered an original painting/drawing into the Siient Auction.
The event, was well attended by the sourrounding community: Rio Rancho, Paridise Hills, Albuquerque participants and many others. We all had fun enjoyed the treats, auction, amusements and exercise (walk/Run). We were all bleassed with wounderful weather for the event.

PEACE POSTER DEADLINES


November 15, 2014 is the postmak deadline to send one winning poster to the district governor.
December 1st, 2014 is the deadline to send winning poster to the multiple district council chaarperson. International Level deadline is December 15th, 2014.
If your school has not had a change to compete in the International Paceposter program Don't let another year past you by. Our children are very proud of the pease posters and their ideas are just woundderful.

WINTER YOUTH EXCHNAGE HOSTING OPPORTUNITIES

2014-2015 COLORDO Lions YEP Winter Exchange has students from Peru, New Zealand, and Australia who may need host families in December and Janurary. These homestays are longer than the summer program and dates are still in flux. The information we have available indicates another great bunch of students.
